Solar Power System

Project Description

This project was a full solar PV build on an existing commercial building. Work included panel layout on the roof, racking installation, DC and AC wiring, inverter installation, protection devices, and tie-in to the building's electrical service. The system was installed to meet code and utility requirements — including proper labeling, disconnects, grounding and bonding, and rapid shutdown capability.

Scope of Work

  • PV array installation — mounted solar panels on engineered racking suited to the roof structure and drainage
  • DC wiring & combiner — pulled and terminated PV string wiring, installed combiner and junction points, labeled polarity and string IDs
  • Inverter & disconnects — installed inverters, AC and DC disconnects, and required overcurrent protection
  • Service tie-in — connected the new solar output into the building's electrical system in accordance with utility requirements
  • Grounding & bonding — bonded racking and metal raceways to meet OESC and manufacturer specifications
  • Utility / ESA coordination — supported inspections, labeling, commissioning tests, and final sign-off

Benefits to Client

  • A complete rooftop PV system — installed, inspected, and generating
  • Clean conduit routing and labeling for straightforward future maintenance
  • Safe, utility-approved interconnection to the building's electrical gear
  • Ready for monitoring and long-term energy savings
