Commercial Rooftop Solar Installation

Full design and installation of a rooftop solar PV system from service to final inspection.

Project Overview

This project was a full solar PV build on an existing commercial building. Work included panel layout on the roof, racking installation, DC/AC wiring, inverter installation, protection devices, and tie-in to the building’s electrical service.

The system was installed to meet code and utility requirements, including proper labeling, disconnects, grounding/bonding, and rapid shutdown capability.

Scope of Work

  • PV Array Installation: Mounted solar panels on the roof with engineered racking to suit roof structure and drainage.
  • DC Wiring & Combiner: Pulled and terminated PV string wiring, installed combiner/junction points, labeled polarity and string IDs.
  • Inverter & Disconnects: Installed inverters, AC disconnects, DC disconnects, and required overcurrent protection.
  • Service Tie-In: Connected the new solar output into the building electrical system in accordance with utility requirements.
  • Grounding & Bonding: Bonded racking and metal raceways to meet OESC and manufacturer specs.
  • Utility / ESA Coordination: Supported inspections, labeling, commissioning tests, and sign-off.
