Project Description
At the NextStar Energy battery plant, Seoul Electric's Health & Safety Representative took full charge of safety management across the entire Cell Building — Zones 100A, 100B, 200A, and 200B. The site had a large contingent of OEM engineers and project managers dispatched from Korea and Japan. They were the core workforce for equipment installation and commissioning, but were unfamiliar with Canada's strict health and safety regulations and jobsite safety culture. The project needed a dedicated on-site professional who understood local requirements precisely — and could bridge the gap. Seoul Electric deployed an experienced Health & Safety Representative to build and run the safety management system for the entire zone.
Scope of Work
- Zone-wide safety leadership — full Health & Safety responsibility across Cell Building Zones 100A, 100B, 200A, and 200B
- Regulatory compliance — supervision and training on Canadian health and safety regulations
- OEM training & guidance — on-site safety training and coaching for Korean and Japanese OEM engineers and project managers
- Risk management — risk assessments, safety inspections, and corrective action follow-through
- Incident prevention — proactive prevention programs and emergency response readiness
- Meetings & records — daily and weekly safety meetings, with full documentation and record-keeping
